You may
have been told that you have an inner kid
and the evidence does seam to show that
many of us do behave as children a lot of
the time. Much has been written in the
alternative world about making friends
with, loving and getting in touch with
this part of our being.
The idea is lovely that part of us that learns super fast thinks nothing is impossible and experiences joy and laughter, love and being loved. It might just be time for a reality check.
To end this magical thinking. I will get back to the lovely huggy stuff later.
As an adult we do have a vast storehouse of knowledge, experiences and memories stored in our subconscious minds Much of it is still running our lives and unless we get rid of what is no longer useful we will run in to many problems in life.
Some of what is below may offend you that is not my intention, I like kids I have some of my own, now grown up and I also have two lovely little ladies who I adore,
If you have children or take an honest look at what you were really like as a child, you will come to the realisation that children are not the love filled creatures that we may have chosen to think of them as.
Children are inexperienced and lack understanding and knowledge of the world, and make lots of mistakes and have many misunderstanding.
They rely on adults to feed, protect them and supply them with all that they require to live.
▪ They are selfish and demanding.
▪ They are only interested in them selves.
▪ They lie, cheat, steel and indulge in acts of violence and bullying.
▪ Highly emotional and subject to mood swings.
▪ Powerful fast changes in states.
▪ Just tell a child NO and notice the results.
▪ Due to lack of experience they are often driven by fear.
▪ They have little ability to tell the difference between reality and fantasy.
▪ Indulge in magical thinking.
▪ Have no control of stress.
So it may be an interesting experience to get in touch with your inner child and this reality, when you do this is that you will find all of this with in you and more.
The Pilgrim Self Hypnosis recordings by Duncan are designed to allow this process to be started and all the recordings are concerned with changing your old programs, beliefs and conditioning of a younger you.
We all know people who are subject to powerful emotional swings and who seam to lack the ability to control their emotions and thoughts and get easily offended when you disagree with their beliefs, just like a child.
Selfish needy people who want no part in being creators in their own life and except, no personal responsibility and constantly blame others. A bit like a child.
You made me, happy, unhappy, you hurt my feelings, made me angry you know what I mean, just like a kid. A very large part of being an adult is personal responsibility and control of your own mind and emotions.
Yet unless we are switched on, we fail to realise this partly because we have rarely been raised by people who had these rare skills in life. Also we are surrounded by people who lack these skills. Victims of victims.
It has often been said the your unconscious mind is that of a five year old, do you want a five year old running your life?
No I don’t ether. If you look around you, you will have ample evidence that this is how we seam to operate.
One of the greatest skills of a child is their ability to imagine and create realities and have imaginary friends and experience joy and have fun in life. These are all good wonderful and fantastic things to keep and develop as an adult. This is the good stuff keep it, use it, swim in it.
Yet there is a down side unless you have self awareness and maturity. You can create a living hell for yourself and those around you indulge in self delusional fantasies and create stress, anxiety, worry and create ill health.
