Now worry is just an emotion and the good news about your emotions is that you and only you create them. Knowing this gives you the personal power to change this unpleasant habit. You just need to know how.
This state you create can have a positive benefit it usually is made up of negative self talk, the stuff you tell yourself and it can be a warning signal from your subconscious mind that you need to pay more attention and take some kind of action.
It can warn us of possible dangers, the big problem is that most people make up all sorts of worry that will never happen. Some people are even proud of this silly habit. You know them. It allows them to get extra attention from people around them.
For example if you are worried about an exam that you will have to take, the warning may be, are you doing what is necessary to successfully pass the exam. If you are not then all you need to do is the correct amount of study and you will pass, as long as you are not filling your head with negative self talk.
So it is part of your ancient survival instinct to notice what might go wrong and then make sure it never happens and if it is going to happen take what ever actions you have to minimise it’s effects. Somethings will happen, yet it makes no sense to be worried until it does happen as often this only makes your life and the lives of people around you unpleasant.

The problem comes when you have generated what is called “toxic worry” this is when you have created such a drama that you are paralysed by your state. You have disengaged your higher brain functions your IQ has dropped and you have gone in to a stress freeze pattern of behaviour.
